Bristol Trials Centre (BTC) is home to two UKCRC-registered Clinical Trial Unit hubs. One is based in the University of Bristol campus and the other in Bristol Royal Infirmary in the city centre.
The Centre was formally launched in November 2019 following the merger of the Bristol Randomised Trials Collaboration and the Clinical Trials and Evaluation Unit.
We offer a wide range of expertise in trials methodology, study design, study management, statistical analyses and data management, including bespoke database design. We also have experts in health economics and social science.
We work with clinicians and researchers from across the UK, starting with the research idea through to the grant application and delivery if successful.
Complete our collaboration application form as early as possible if you are interested in working with us.
Bristol Trials Centre is hosted in the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Bristol.
It is in the NCRI Cancer Clinical Trials Group and has close links to:
- NIHR Bristol Biomedical Research Centre,
- Bristol Centre for Surgical Research and
- the team that deliver the QuinteT Recruitment Intervention (QRI), which has been successfully embedded in several of our trials to optimise recruitment.
Bristol Trials Centre receives National Institute for Health Research CTU Support Funding. This funding has been awarded to support us in developing and supporting NIHR trials. The views expressed are those of Bristol Trials Centre and not necessarily those of the NIHR or the Department of Health and Social Care.
